Jesus said,
“When you know yourselves, then you will be known, and you will understand that you are children of the living father.
But if you do not know yourselves, then you dwell in poverty, and
you are poverty.”
But which self?

“Brand You”

Brand you changes from work to home. The self at work may be a different brand than the one at home. This is the ego. We need it.

But to know yourself is also dangerous because you might think there is one brand – one you for all spaces – this comes from cherry picking life development.

Just because it works at work doesn’t mean it works at home. Goal setting will kill a relationship faster than an affair.

At work your brand is determined by your outcomes – if you want success you need to brand yourself with that intent. Brand you would dress, exercise, think, value, self talk and vision brand you – success.

At home you might have different intent. If you forget to strip work brand and get home brand going – it’s stress.

The way to know if brand you, your self knowledge is working or not, is your mental and physical health. If it’s down, brand you needs a recharge – change.

Cherry picking change is therefore the greatest disaster – changing one area of life as if it is disconnected from the rest is a disaster both to personal brand and to your outcomes. It leads to mental and physical illness – depression, anxiety etc

For many years Corporations have made the mistake of compartmentalising the development of people with the aim of increasing productivity and yet, the total human being, the heart, quality of life, relationship and other aspects of the human condition have been ignored. As we enter an era of hyper accelerated decision making the demands on individuals to bring their total capacity to work, including their heart, creativity, inspiration and non rational intellect, means we need a new understanding of “the Total Human Dynamic.” In nature we are people first and fragmentation doesn’t exist. Let’s restore and preserve that awareness.

Beyond brand you there is soul. No brand.

But without brand you cannot work. It would be like going to work naked.

However, to know soul is to know home. If we don’t know soul we only know ego. Ego cannot love.

This is why self knowledge is so important. And this is the self that is spoken about in all great teaching.

“The person who knows everything but does not know themselves, knows nothing” Buddhist quote
